PRESIDENT

Kailash Kasal started his business endeavours with a chain of successful convenience stores in Toronto, which he grew and managed. Kasal then went on to acquire and grow a portfolio of gas stations.

Over the past 25 years, Kasal has been focusing primarily on acquiring and investing in a portfolio of successful branded hotels in Ontario and Quebec. He is involved in every aspect of the transaction, including sourcing the right properties that fit our strategy to closing and managing the operations. Prior to formally founding K2 Group, he has been the key investor and architect behind one the fastest growing hospitality and development companies in Canada. 

Kasal has a Bachelor’s of Engineering and a Masters in Marketing. He is also very engaged in the local community, through philanthropic efforts and building relationships.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Thomas Jacob oversees the firm’s capital allocation, portfolio strategy, and operations, driving disciplined growth and long-term value creation.

A seasoned investor and entrepreneur, Thomas has built and backed ventures across healthcare, renewable energy, consumer, and technology sectors. He is an active investor at Braxia Health, a growing Canadian healthcare platform, and a co-founder of Sunly Energy, one of Canada’s leading renewable energy firms.

Thomas combines private equity discipline, governance excellence, and capital markets strategy with entrepreneurial agility to build enduring, mission-aligned platforms. Beyond creating value and driving growth, his most meaningful title is ‘Father’ - a role that continually inspires his purpose and perspective in life.

A QuantumShift Fellow from the Ivey Business School, Thomas is completing the Owner/President Management (OPM) program at Harvard Business School. He is a member of YPO and deeply engaged in philanthropic initiatives that strengthen communities across Canada.
